As you can see lots of Indian yummy recipes require ‘Garam Masala‘. In India it is available in every grocery shops. Outside India, you can buy these Garam Masala from Indian grocery shops. But sometimes it is very difficult to find an Indian shop outside India. So, today we are showing you how to make Indian Garam Masala at your home.
Do not get confused with curry powder and garam masala. Curry Powder contains lots of ingredients, but garam masala consists less than 10 items only. In this recipe, I use only 7 must have ingredients only.
How to make Indian Garam Masala at your home easily.
- 3 tbsp Fennel seeds
- 2 tbsp Cardamoms
- 1 No Nutmeg Whole
- 1 No Cinnamon Stick large
- 6 pieces Star Anise
- 10 pieces Cloves
- 4 pieces Bay Leaves
- Wash all the above ingredients and dry in the sun.
- Heat a pan and toast all the ingredients in low flame (maximum 3-4 minutes)
- Using a mixer grinder, grind all the ingredients into a fine powder. Keep this in an air tight container, so that it will not loose its smell.
That’s all, garam masala is ready and you can use it in all Indian recipes that uses Garam Masala.
